The Real Cost of Social Media Marketing
There seems to be a misconception about social media and I just heard it again the other day at 1 Million Cups, “Social Media is Free.” Although I see where this misconception started, I wanted to offer some clarity on what the cost of social media really is.
The number one question to consider is, “What are your goals with Social Media?” Typically the answers do not lend itself to the “Free” social media accounts we signed up for in 2006… Let me explain.
Social media platforms exist because they are actually able to bring in ad revenue from businesses, just like yours and mine, to support that platform. Most all platforms that do not charge businesses to get in front of customers…. probably don’t have many eyes on them anyway.
What does this mean for you? It means you have to pay in order to get any information about your business out there… Problem answered article over, right?
Take a look at the Infographic created that takes into consideration “cost” in several different ways: Money, Effort, Skill, Effectiveness, and Equipment.
I’m passionate about helping business owners stay up to date with digital marketing and how it relates from business to consumer. Technology is changing faster then ever and I understand how time-consuming “keeping up with the Joneses” can be.
Hopefully, this graphic can provide some insight into what really goes into a successful digital marketing plan.
